Description

Randolph Construction Services provided various levels of design and construction for the deployment of Radiation Portal Monitor at the Maher Terminal located in the Port of New York / New Jersey.

These sites included Maher Terminal (the nation's largest capacity seaport terminal), Howland Hook (rail yard), and JFK Airport (test bed site). Maher Terminal and Howland Hook included completed post conceptual site investigation, preparation of detailed S.O.W.’s (Scope of Work) for independent design and construction efforts, identification and prequalification of local bidders, administration of a competitive bid process, management and award of the design and construction efforts independently, on site construction management and QA on site throughout construction.

Maher Terminal (capacity for 13,500 containers per day) included the facilitation of the development and deployment of an interim communications integration of the CBP and Maher Terminal’s information system. Due to the high traffic volume, special technology was deployed to include higher speed portals, radar, Visual Identification System, cameras, and intercoms. Work was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.
